This page catalogs all known prints that Yoshitoshi created for the Tokaido Road series. This was a large set of prints produced in 1863 to commemorate the shogun’s journey from Edo to Kyoto to visit the Emperor. At this point, the power of the shogun was on the decline, and this was the first procession for a long period. It appears that two Tokaido series each containing more than 55 prints were issued.
According to scholarship by Andreas Marks, the series was a collaborative effort designed by 16 artists and issued by 24 publishers. This page only lists those prints known to have been created by Yoshitoshi. For a complete listing of the entire series, please see: this page.
